Its cathedral is Saint Joseph de Wamba, and the diocese is a suffragan of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kisangani.

History
Wamba, a city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is the seat of a Roman Catholic diocese (Latin: Vambaën(sis)) in the ecclesiastical province of Kisangani. During the tenure of Bishop Kataka Lucete, the diocese apparently counted 18 parishes and 42 diocesan priests.
