Latin-rite diocese in Haut-Uele Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo, established as an Apostolic Vicariate on 10 March 1949 from the Apostolic Vicariate of Stanley Falls and promoted to diocese on 10 November 1959. Its cathedral is Saint Joseph de Wamba, and the diocese is a suffragan of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kisangani.

History
Wamba, a city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is the seat of a Roman Catholic diocese (Latin: Vambaën(sis)) in the ecclesiastical province of Kisangani. During the tenure of Bishop Kataka Lucete, the diocese apparently counted 18 parishes and 42 diocesan priests.
