• Diocese of San Bartolomé de Chillán peregrinates with the Virgin of Carmen

  Pilgrims in the Chillán Deanery processed with an image of the Virgin of Carmen to observe the Day of Prayer for Chile. During the procession, students from Colegio La Purísima Concepción led the Rosary, and the event was broadcast by Radio El Sembrador. The Regimiento N°9 Chillán escorted the image from the Parroquia San Bernardo and through the streets leading to the Catedral. The day concluded with a Santa Misa por la Patria, presided over by Father Patricio Fuentes Benavides, the Vicar General of the diocese. During his homily, Father Fuentes Benavides thanked Defensa Civil, Carabineros, volunteers, and coordination teams for their help. He urged the faithful to ensure their daily actions match their faith and to contribute to a more just and solidary country through their work and studies. Bishop Andrés Ferrada, who is currently in Rome, sent a greeting to the pilgrims.

• Diocese of San Bartolomé de Chillán celebrates Te Deum

  The Diocese of San Bartolomé de Chillán held its traditional Te Deum at the Cathedral Church. Bishop Andrés Ferrada Moreira led the ceremony, which included regional authorities, senators, volunteer representatives, and law enforcement officials. During his homily, Bishop Ferrada Moreira spoke about the social nature of life and the importance of community. He prayed for families, the vulnerable, and those responsible for public safety. The bishop called for a commitment to combat organized crime and drug trafficking, specifically mentioning support for the Carabineros and the Investigative Police. He also urged the promotion of the family and the protection of life from conception to natural death. The service featured a musical prayer by folk singer Juan Godoy Bustos. Bishop Ferrada Moreira concluded by asking for the intercession of Nuestra Señora del Carmen during the year commemorating 100 years of her coronation.
