The Archdiocese of Santiago de Cuba is the primatial Latin rite metropolitan see of eastern Cuba, with suffragans Guantanamo-Baracoa, Holguin and Santisimo Salvador de Bayamo y Manzanillo. Cuba's oldest see, it was erected as the Diocese of Baracoa in 1516, renamed Santiago de Cuba in 1522, and elevated to an archdiocese on 24 November 1803. Its seat is the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption in Santiago de Cuba.

History
First erected in 1518 as the Diocese of Baracoa, the Archdiocese of Santiago de Cuba (Latin: Archidioecesis Sancti Iacobi in Cuba) is a Latin Catholic jurisdiction in Cuba. As a metropolitan see it presides over an ecclesiastical province with four suffragan dioceses: Guantánamo-Baracoa, Holguín and Santísimo Salvador de Bayamo y Manzanillo.
