The Diocese of Mende is a Latin rite diocese covering the Lozere department in southern France, erected in the 3rd century and today a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Montpellier. Its cathedral is the Cathedral Basilica of Notre Dame and St. Privat in Mende.

History
The department of Lozère forms the territory of the Diocese of Mende (Latin: Dioecoesis Mimatensis; French: Diocèse de Mende), a Latin diocese of the Catholic Church in France. The see was already in existence in 314, since Genialis, a deacon of the Church of Gabalum (Gévaudan), was present at the Council of Arles held that year.
