Tagle shared the Pope's sentiments regarding the elevation of Sheen to Blessed.

Bishop of Grand Rapids to celebrate Wedding Anniversary Mass
The Bishop of Grand Rapids will celebrate the Annual Wedding Anniversary Mass for married couples on Sunday, October 11, 2026. The liturgy begins at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew. The Diocese of Grand Rapids invites couples to attend the Mass to give thanks for the gift of marriage and to celebrate their faithfulness. The event is open to all married couples, whether newly married or married for many decades. Couples planning to attend should RSVP by providing requested information through the diocesan website. Bishop Walkowiak celebrates Mass for World Day of Migrants and Refugees
Bishop Walkowiak celebrated Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew on Sunday, Sept. 20, to observe the World Day of Migrants and Refugees. The Diocese of Grand Rapids gathered the congregation to recognize the cultural diversity within the local Church. Following the Mass, members of the Hispanic, Vietnamese, and African communities performed traditional songs and dances. The event concluded with a reception for those in attendance.

Bishop Brendan J. Cahill urges policy upholding migrants' dignity
Bishop Brendan J. Cahill is calling on U.S. officials and lawmakers to create policies that protect the human dignity of migrants and prevent families from being separated. As chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Committee on Migration, Cahill issued the statement on September 16 to mark National Migration Week, which runs from September 21 to 27, 2026. He specifically noted the need to protect migrant children and highlighted the Church's history of supporting refugee children through diocesan charities and the legacy of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini. Cahill currently leads the Diocese of Victoria, Texas, but Archbishop Gabriele G. Caccia, the apostolic nuncio to the United States, announced on September 17 that Pope Leo XIV named him the new bishop of Joliet, Illinois.
