Bangaloren(sis)

Latin rite metropolitan archdiocese in Karnataka, India, begun as a pro-vicariate in 1845, made a diocese in 1886, and elevated to metropolitan archdiocese on 19 September 1953. Its seat is St. Francis Xavier's Cathedral in Bangalore, and its province includes nine suffragan dioceses including Belgaum, Bellary, Mangalore and Mysore. Its patron is St. Francis Xavier.
