Its seat is the Queen of Apostles Cathedral in Patna, with suffragans Bettiah, Bhagalpur, Buxar, Muzaffarpur, and Purnea. Catholics number about 54,100 (2005).

  • Patna Archdiocese responds to Bihar floods

    Patna Archdiocese members met at St. Xavier’s B.Ed. College in Patna on Sept. 7, 2026, to organize relief for families affected by flooding in Bihar. Representatives from various religious congregations and institutions shared information regarding conditions in flooded areas to coordinate a three-phase response. The relief effort began with collecting biscuits, soap, jaggery, salt, sattu, and water purification tablets. Nazareth Academy in Mokama and Gaya, Holy Family Hospital in Kurji, Arunodaya, and the Provincial House participated in gathering supplies. Staff, students, parents, and sisters from these institutions worked to collect and pack the items. Holy Family Hospital plans to hold medical camps once the floodwaters recede. Supplies have already begun reaching families in distress through these donations.
