History
Central Tennessee has been served since 1837 by the Diocese of Nashville (Latin: Dioecesis Nashvillensis), a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Louisville and, by population, the largest diocese in Tennessee. Its bishop, J. Mark Spalding, has his seat at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Nashville, Tennessee.
