Latin rite territorial prelature in Peru's Apurimac Department, erected 26 April 1968 from the Diocese of Abancay and staffed largely by the Order of Saint Augustine. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Cusco, seated at the Cathedral of San Pedro in Chuquibambilla. The see has been vacant since 14 February 2024, when Bishop Edinson Farfan was transferred to Chiclayo and remained as apostolic administrator.
