History

The old Inca imperial capital of Cusco, Peru, is the seat of this Latin Metropolitan archdiocese (Latin: Cuschen(sis)). Its archiepiscopal cathedral is the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin, and the archdiocese also counts a Marian Minor basilica, the Basílica Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes.
