The Diocese of Abancay is a Latin Church diocese in the Apurimac region of Peru, erected on 28 April 1958 from territory of the Archdiocese of Cusco. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Cusco and led by Bishop Gilberto Gomez Gonzalez.

History
Carved from the territory of the Archdiocese of Cuzco on April 28, 1958, the Diocese of Abancay is a Latin Church jurisdiction of the Catholic Church in Peru; Alcides Mendoza Castro became its first bishop at its erection. It remains a suffragan within the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Cuzco, and Gilberto Gómez González has led the diocese since 2009.
