History

By the papal bull "Precibus annuentes" of April 25, 1950, the Territorial Prelature of Infanta (Latin: Praelatura Territorialis Infantensis) was established from a portion of the then-Diocese of Lipa. This Latin Catholic territorial prelature sits in the municipality of Infanta, Quezon, within the ecclesiastical province of Lipa in the Philippines. Some municipalities of the civil province of Isabela were added to it in 1953, but on August 16, 1955, that territory returned to the Diocese of Tuguegarao.
