History

First created on April 10, 1910 out of the Archdiocese of Manila, the see of Lipa was raised to its present rank on June 20, 1972. Today the Archdiocese of Lipa (Latin: Archidioecesis Lipensis; Filipino: Arsidiyosesis ng Lipa; Spanish: Arquidiócesis de Lipa) is a Latin Church archdiocese of the Catholic Church in the Philippines whose territory is the civil province of Batangas, with the Metropolitan Cathedral of St. Sebastian in Lipa, Batangas as its cathedral.
