The Diocese of Sacramento is a Latin Rite diocese covering twenty counties of northern California. Erected in 1886, it is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of San Francisco and is led by Bishop Jaime Soto, who became diocesan bishop in 2008.

History
Northern California is home to the Diocese of Sacramento (Latin: Diœcesis Sacramentensis), a suffragan of the Archdiocese of San Francisco. The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Sacramento serves as its mother church, and Jaime Soto is its bishop.
