• Convento dei Frati Minori di San Miniato to open exhibit

  The Convento dei Frati Minori di San Miniato will open an exhibition titled Tesori Svelati to mark the 800th anniversary of the death of San Francesco. The exhibit displays historical, artistic, and liturgical items, including silver, textiles, and liturgical furnishings, alongside reliquaries containing fragments of the saio, the cingolo, and the ashes of the Saint of Assisi. The event includes a presentation by Maria Grazia Tampieri, a monument protection coordinator for the San Miniato territory, and art historian Claudio Casini. A Mass will follow the presentation.

• Fondazione Madonna del Soccorso to open new Rsa in Bientina

  The Madonna del Soccorso Foundation will inaugurate the Madonna del Sacro Cuore residential care facility in Bientina on Saturday, October 3. The new center, located in the Archdiocese of Pisa, can accommodate 48 elderly residents who require full-time care and six people in its day center. Archbishop of Pisa Saverio Cannistrà, Bishop of San Miniato Giovanni Paccosi, and Bishop Emeritus of Pistoia Fausto Tardelli will preside over the ceremony. The event begins with a Mass followed by a procession with the Madonna to the facility, where officials will perform a traditional ribbon-cutting. This project marks the first time the foundation has built a facility outside the Diocese of San Miniato. The foundation developed the center following requests from the Bientina municipal administration and the Santa Maria Assunta parish. Local social and community groups participated in the two-year planning process to create a social project alongside the physical construction. The foundation placed the first stone for the building on October 6, 2024.

• Diocese of San Miniato restarts "Gruppo Genitori"

  The Diocese of San Miniato has restarted the Gruppo Genitori to help parents manage the challenges of raising children at different developmental stages. The program is organized by the Consultorio Familiare Diocesano “A. Giani” to support parental responsibilities and help adults understand their children's inner lives. The course consists of approximately 8 meetings. Psychotherapist and psychoanalyst Monica Ferri will lead the sessions, using other experts from the team to address specific topics. Parents of children of any age can participate to improve their relationships with their children through peer discussion and expert supervision. The program provides a space for parents to share educational difficulties and emotional challenges without judgment.
