The Diocese of Sulmona-Valva is a Latin-rite diocese in the Abruzzo region of central Italy, in its current form since the 1986 union of the dioceses of Sulmona and Valva. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of L'Aquila and has been led since 2017 by Bishop Michele Fusco.

History

Roughly 120 km (75 mi) directly east of Rome, in Italy's Abruzzi region, lies the Latin Church Diocese of Sulmona-Valva (Latin: Dioecesis Sulmonensis-Valvensis); Corfinio (Valva) sits 14 km north-northwest of Sulmona. The present configuration dates from 1986, when the two dioceses were united into one. The combined see is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of L'Aquila.
