Melkite Greek Catholic archeparchy of the Byzantine rite for Damascus, the proper patriarchal see of the Melkite Patriarchate of Antioch since 1724. The patriarch governs it directly, assisted by a patriarchal vicar (Archbishop Nicolas Antiba). Its seat is the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Dormition in Damascus.

History
A metropolitan and patriarchal see, the Melkite Greek Catholic Archeparchy of Damascus of the Melkites (in Latin: Archeparchy Damascena Graecorum Melkitarum) counted 150,000 baptized in 2010. Archbishop Nicolas Antiba currently serves as vicar of Patriarch Youssef Absi.
