Melkite Greek Catholic archeparchy of the Byzantine rite for Latakia (Lattaquie) on the Syrian coast. Erected in 1961 from the Melkite Archeparchy of Tripoli, it belongs to the Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarchate of Antioch. Its seat is the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Annunciation in Latakia.

History
Latakia is home to a Melkite Greek Catholic archeparchy (Latin: Archeparchy Laodicena Graecorum Melkitarum) that answers immediately to the Holy See. Archeparch Georges Khawam currently governs it; in 2009 the baptized numbered 14,500.
