Eparchy of the Ruthenian Greek Catholic Church covering Zakarpattia Oblast, canonically erected 19 September 1771 by Pope Clement XIV and directly subject to the Holy See. It is the mother eparchy of several Greek Catholic churches; the seat is the Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Uzhhorod.

History
Erected by Pope Clement XIV in 1771, the Greek Catholic Eparchy of Mukachevo belongs to the Ruthenian Greek Catholic Church. Its territory takes in the south-western reaches of Ukraine, corresponding roughly to Zakarpattia Oblast. The eparchy answers directly to the Holy See and is overseen by the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches.
