History
Southern Ukraine and Crimea fall within the Diocese of Odesa-Simferopol (Latin: Dioecesis Odesensis-Sympheropolitana), a Latin Church territory of the Catholic Church. An important part of the Latin Church in Ukraine, it spans an area roughly a third the size of Poland, including regions touched by the Russian Federation's annexation of Crimea and the pro-Russian unrest of 2014. A de facto inter-state border has divided the diocese since 2014.
