The Latin rite Diocese of Phu Cuong in southern Vietnam was erected on 14 October 1965. A suffragan of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City, its cathedral is the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Thu Dau Mot, Binh Duong Province.

History

Founded in its present form on October 14, 1965, the Diocese of Phú Cường (Latin: Dioecesis Phucuongensis) covers 10,855 km² of southern Vietnam as a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh city. Sacred Heart Cathedral in Thủ Dầu Một City is its cathedral. By 2013 the diocese counted about 141,239 Catholics (4.8% of the population), 161 priests, and 96 parishes. Joseph Nguyễn Tấn Tước has been its bishop since 2012.
