Pope Leo XIV addresses participants at international peace meeting in Assisi

Catholic Intelligence1 min read

Pope Leo XIV sent a video message on Tuesday, October 27, to participants of the international meeting "Disarmed and Disarming Peace" in Assisi. In the message, the Pope stated that there is no such thing as a holy war and that only peace is holy.

The Pope spoke in response to a modern culture of power that seeks to provide religious legitimacy to conflicts. The meeting in Assisi concludes this evening, marking the 40th anniversary of the peace event originally convened by Saint John Paul II in 1986.
