Pope Leo XIV says love for God requires love for neighbor

Catholic Intelligence1 min read

During the Angelus prayer on Sunday, September 25, Pope Leo XIV stated that one cannot love God without also loving one's neighbor. Speaking from St. Peter's Square, the Pope said that a new heart is necessary to receive and live out the great commandment of love.

He described this commandment not as a mere obligation or mandate, but as a requirement arising from the human longing for communion with God.
