Pope Leo XIV to visit Spain
Bishops of the Ecclesiastical Province of Pamplona met on Monday, October 26, to discuss the upcoming visit of Pope Leo XIV to Spain.
The meeting, hosted by Archbishop Florencio Roselló Avellanas of Pamplona and Bishop of Tudela, included Bishop Fernando Prado Ayuso of San Sebastián, Bishop Santos Montoya Torres of Calahorra and La Calzada-Logroño, and Bishop Pedro Aguado Cuesta of Jaca. In addition to the papal visit, the bishops discussed social issues such as immigration, the situation in Ceuta, and access to housing.
The bishops also addressed the training of seminarians. The Diocesan Seminary of Pamplona currently hosts seminarians from Pamplona, Bilbao, and San Sebastián. Starting next academic year, seminarians from Logroño will also join the seminary. These students are currently completing their initial discernment stage at the Diocesan Seminary of the Holy Children Justo and Pastor in Alcalá de Henares.
