  • Diocese of Erexim to hold 75th Romaria a N. Sra. de Fátima

    The Diocese of Erexim will begin a novena on Friday to prepare for its 75th Romaria a N. Sra. de Fátima. The novena runs through October 10 and features four daily celebrations: a 07h Mass, a 14h Rosary and Mass, a 18h Rosary and Mass, and a 19h30 procession from the Cathedral to the Sanctuary followed by Mass. The theme for the pilgrimage is “Fátima, um apelo de paz” with the motto “Felizes os que promovem a paz” (Mt 5,9). The first day focuses on “Peregrinar com a Rainha da paz” with the prayer “Senhor, fazei-nos instrumentos de vossa paz.” Each day will focus on a request from the prayer attributed to Saint Francis to remember the 800 years since his death, including bringing love where there is hatred, forgiveness where there is offense, unity where there is discord, faith where there is doubt, truth where there is error, hope where there is despair, joy where there is sadness, and light where there is darkness.

  • Paróquia São Caetano to hold Mass in Coronel Teixeira

    São Caetano Parish scheduled a Mass at the Santa Terezinha community in Coronel Teixeira for 19h30 on Saturday, September 26. During the service, the parish will present candles to students in the Etapa Aprofundar stage and the Creio to those in the Etapa da Vivência stage. The parish newsletter also lists a Mass at the Igreja Matriz on September 27 at 9h to present Bibles to students in the Etapa Anúncio stage.   • Diocese of Erexim holds 39th Romaria a N. Sra. da Santa Cruz

    The Diocese of Erexim held the 39th Romaria a N. Sra. da Santa Cruz at Lajeado Paca, located at Km 20 of the RS 420 road between Erechim and Aratiba. The pilgrimage followed a three day novena held from September 11 to 13. The event focused on the theme of Our Lady of the Holy Cross and Dorothea Farina as a path to conversion and peace. During the pilgrimage, Father Gladir Giacomel, the sanctuary rector, presided over a mass near the cross. Laypeople led the Via-Sacra, followed by a penitential service led by Father Paulo Rogério Caovilla, the pastor of São Pedro Parish in Erechim. Father Clair Fa also presided over a blessing of food.
