Delegation for Education and Culture visits workshop at CDP Santiago Sur
The Delegation for Education and Culture of the Archdiocese of Santiago, Fundación Invictus, and Duoc UC visited the carpentry workshop at the CDP Santiago Sur to inspect available machinery and tools. This technical visit helps applicants for the Desks for Chile competition adjust their furniture designs to the specific technical capabilities of the facility. The competition seeks designs for dignified, functional, and low-cost furniture. Once selected, people deprived of liberty will manufacture the desks to be given to children and youth facing vulnerability or overcrowding who lack adequate study spaces at home. Father Luis Valenzuela Valdebenito received the delegation at the workshop located on 11th Street. The project is being promoted alongside Sodimac and is currently accepting applications and inquiries.

Cardenal Fernando Chomali presents documentary in UN and UC
Cardinal Fernando Chomali presented his documentary, "Wednesday 15:30, Memories of an Absence," at the United Nations and UC to highlight the testimony of families of the disappeared in the Biobío region. The film, which the Archbishop of Santiago directed, documents the decades-long search for truth, justice, and dignity by these families. The documentary was screened at the FAO regional headquarters before an audience of ambassadors, diplomats, and international organization representatives. Georgiana Braga-Orillard, the Resident Representative of the PNUD in Chile, attended the session and noted the ethical value of the film. The screening aimed to foster dialogue and visibility for the children and spouses who continue to seek answers more than 50 years later.

Cardenal Fernando Chomali invites faithful to celebrate 100 years of the Coronation of the Virgin of Carmen
Cardinal Fernando Chomali, the Archbishop of Santiago, is inviting the faithful to participate in a procession on Sunday, September 27, to mark the centenary of the Pontifical Coronation of the Virgin of Mount Carmel. The Archdiocese of Santiago released videos on Monday featuring the cardinal alongside various public figures and families to encourage participation in the event. The procession commemorates 100 years since the coronation of the Virgin of Mount Carmel, whom the Church recognizes as the Mother and Queen of Chile. Chomali described the procession as a collective prayer for Chile and an opportunity for believers to gather. He stated that the event serves as a moment to recognize faith in Jesus Christ and the role of Mary in leading believers toward him.
