The Archdiocese of Clermont is a Latin rite metropolitan archdiocese covering the Puy-de-Dome department in the Auvergne region of central France; the ancient see (3rd century) was elevated to a metropolitan archdiocese on 8 December 2002. Its province includes Le Puy-en-Velay, Moulins and Saint-Flour. Its seat is the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption in Clermont-Ferrand.

History
The department of Puy-de-Dôme, in the Region of Auvergne, forms the territory of the Archdiocese of Clermont (Latin: Archidioecesis Claromontana; French: Archidiocèse de Clermont), a Latin archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church in France whose archbishop's seat is Clermont-Ferrand Cathedral. For most of its history Clermont ranked as the senior suffragan of the Archdiocese of Bourges, but in 2002 it became a metropolitan see in its own right. François Kalist is the current archbishop.
