Record attendance at 2026 Priest Convocation
More than 190 priests from the Diocese of Phoenix gathered in Flagstaff this week for the 2026 Priest Convocation. The four day event, which began Monday and concludes Thursday afternoon, Sept. 24, focuses on prayer, fellowship, and formation. The convocation theme, "Our Priestly Encounter with the Sacraments," aligns with listening sessions the diocese is conducting on the sacraments this year. These sessions are part of TILMA, a seven year pastoral plan for evangelization established by Bishop Dolan. Auxiliary Bishop Peter Dui Bui, who serves as the Vicar for Clergy, said the theme allows priests to join the conversation regarding the sacraments before the sessions expand. The agenda includes morning and evening prayer, Mass, Eucharistic adoration, small groups, and guest speakers. Priests also attended a Jubilarian Dinner to celebrate milestones in their years of service. Bishop Bui stated the gathering allows priests to step back from their parishes to pray and discuss the responsibilities of administering the sacraments.

Diocese of Phoenix to host Night of Hope
The Diocese of Phoenix will host the Night of Hope, a 30-minute virtual event to raise funds for Catholic schools. The event supports the Catholic School Support 365 Fund, which helps families facing extraordinary circumstances afford tuition. Participants will hear stories from students, teachers, and principals from across the diocese about how donations have impacted their lives. Last year, more than 2,500 families from Arizona registered for the event, raising nearly one million dollars for students in need. Contributions to the fund also support classroom technology, programs for different types of learners, and practical assistance for families.
