Latin-rite diocese in western Romania whose see was transferred to Varad (Oradea) by King St. Ladislaus I around 1077, today a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Bucharest. Its seat is the Cathedral Basilica of St. Mary in Oradea, a minor basilica, and the diocese honors St. Ladislaus as patron.
