History
In Northern Illinois, the Diocese of Rockford (Latin: Diœcesis Rockfordiensis) belongs to the province of the Archdiocese of Chicago as a suffragan see. Its mother church is the Cathedral of Saint Peter in the City of Rockford, and its bishop is David Malloy.
