Diocese of Salamanca recalls 2014-2016 Asamblea diocesana

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

The Diocese of Salamanca is reflecting on the diocesan assembly held between 2014 and 2016 to renew the local Church.

During the 2014–2015 and 2015–2016 academic years, the assembly brought together approximately 1,700 people organized into 200 groups, including parishes, religious communities, and various diocesan movements.

Five participants who helped prepare the process shared their experiences a decade later. Begoña Antolínez described the working environment of the Permanent Commission as one of communion where members learned to listen and seek new paths for the diocese. She noted that the commission's methods served as early steps toward the synodality currently emphasized by the Church.

Other members of the Permanent Commission included Ricardo de Luis Carballada, Inés Cruz, Alfonso Salgado, and Tomás González. Salgado contributed to the preparation of materials distributed to the assembly groups.
