Latin Church diocese erected in 1887 as the Diocese of Wilcannia and renamed Wilcannia-Forbes in 1917, covering the Far West region of New South Wales. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Sydney with its cathedral at Broken Hill, and has been led by Bishop Columba Macbeth-Green since 2014.

History
A suffragan of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Sydney, the Diocese of Wilcannia-Forbes is a Latin Church jurisdiction in Australia. It began in 1887 as the Diocese of Wilcannia, named for a town on the Darling River whose importance at the time rested on the dominance of river transport.
