History
Created in 1986 as a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Sydney, the Diocese of Parramatta is a Latin Church see with pastoral responsibility for the western suburbs of Sydney and the Blue Mountains in New South Wales. Its bishop is seated at St Patrick's Cathedral, Parramatta. Pope Francis named Vincent Long Van Nguyen, OFMConv, its fourth bishop on 5 May 2016, and he was installed on 16 June 2016.
