History

Málaga, in Andalucía, is the episcopal see of the Diocese of Málaga (Latin: Malacitan(sis)), a Latin Church ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Catholic Church in Spain. It is a suffragan diocese within the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Granada.

He also characterized theological formation as a local Church experience involving professors, priests, and laypeople sharing reflection and conversation to better understand the life of the diocese.

  • Diocese of Málaga priest Gabriel Pérez Sánchez dies at 93

    The Diocese of Málaga has announced the death of priest Gabriel Pérez Sánchez at the age of 93. During his ministry, Pérez Sánchez served as the administrator of Jubrique, the person in charge of Genalguacil, and in his home village of Algatocín. He served as a parochial vicar at San Felipe Neri for three years before moving to Casares to serve as an administrator. He worked as a chaplain at Carlos Haya, focusing his ministry on caring for the sick. He also served the San Felipe Neri parish in Málaga as parochial vicar, parish administrator, and pastor. In 2016, he began serving as a parochial vicar at Santa María de la Victoria, la Merced, and San Lázaro.

    The Diocese of Málaga has helped four families move to a rural village through the Mesa del Mundo Rural initiative.
