History

In the state of Minnesota in the United States, the Catholic Church is served by the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis (Latin: Archidiœcesis Paulopolitana et Minneapolitana). Unusually, its archbishop presides over two principal churches: the Cathedral of Saint Paul in Saint Paul serves as the mother church, while the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis holds the rank of co-cathedral.
