CELEBRACIÓN DE SAN FRANCISCO DE ASÍS EN PUNTA ARENAS
The San Francisco de Asís community in Punta Arenas celebrated its patron saint on October 4. Bishop Óscar Blanco Martínez, OMD, presided over the Eucharist, which included the local parish priest, Father Patricio Barría, priests Marcos and Peter, seminarian Fabián, and deacon Luis.
During the liturgy, community coordinators Eliana and Alejandro presented awards to Sigifredo Téllez, Ximena Bahamonde, Mónica Álvarez, and Luis Gajardo to recognize their service and perseverance within the community. The Diocese of Punta Arenas noted the participation of Brother Raúl Allimant, OFM, representing the Franciscan brothers of Chile, as well as members from the Nuestra Señora de Fátima Parish and the Santuario Jesús Nazareno. The choir from the Santuario María Auxiliadora provided music featuring Franciscan-inspired songs. The event concluded with a communal meal.
