Bishop Krzysztof Włodarczyk of Bydgoszcz presided over a plenary indulgence Mass at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Consolation in Dąbrówka Kościelna on Sunday, September 13, 2026. The Mass was held to honor the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The celebrations included a procession to a tree and prayers to the Mother of Consolation. The sanctuary's history dates back to the second half of the 17th century, centered on a miraculous image that reportedly began to glow with light while hanging from an oak tree. Father Jacek Krzesiński, the parish priest and sanctuary custodian, noted that the site's history began when this light overcame the natural shade of the forest.
Pilgrims traveled to the event from several locations, including Poznań, Kostrzyn Wielkopolski, Gniezno, Swarzędź, Oborniki, Rogoźno, Murowana Goślina, and Łopienna. The weekend program also featured the unveiling of the miraculous image, rosary prayers, and evening vespers with a Eucharistic procession.
